Our annual race which is our main source of the Club’s revenue could not run without volunteers. Although we are a small club compared with some, newer members may not realise that this income means that we can provide free entry to many events eg Thunder Run teams, Green Belt, Horton, Nonsuch, River and Norfolk Relays, Cross Country, free food and drink at the Captain’s BBQ, free food at the Xmas party, subsidised clothing and Marathon Coaches and more! If you haven’t already, please see Kevin Stone at a club night to volunteer, or contact him on 07921 069454 or stone.kev@gmail.com Many thanks!

Quiz Night – Results
After a fantastically successful Cross Country and Perch performance by many at the Club this weekend, all eyes were on who could match good leg power with top brain power….. Despite a full weekend of Club activities over 50 of us made it to the Club’s inaugural Quiz Night which was hosted with enthusiasm by Captain Chris and Treasurer Charlie. We had 12 teams of 5ish and even the bar staff entered a team! Full Results below

Grand Prix Race 9: The Perch 16th Jan 2010
What a day to remember !
I can not recall another time when 26.2 has recorded so many awards. Not only did Luke McDonagh convincingly win overall, Declan Flynn won the Mens M50 category and Zoe Ashcroft and Laura Roberts received awards. To cap it off the Mens team of Luke, Declan and Dominic Collier beat Tadworth to take the Mens Team prize and Zoe, Laura and Libby Marchant swept away East Grinstead Tri and Stragglers to win the Ladies team Prize. If there had been one, we would have easily taken the Mob Match award also.
Well done every one of the 36 club runners who took part in a most enjoyable Sunday morning run. Full race results and race report set out below:
LADIES CROSS COUNTRY RESULTS 15/1/11 Ham
Fantastic – we were 2nd team on the day and still 3rd after 3 matches, 41 points above Elmbridge! So if we get a good turn-out at the last match on 12/2/11 at Wimbledon Common (Putney Vale end) which is also a Grand Priz race, we have a very good chance of promotion to Division 1!

Tadworth 10 – January 2nd 2011
10 club members made it to the start line of the Tadworth 10 – fewer than had entered, but still a reasonable turnout. As ever, the race was tough and at the painful end of ‘undulating’, though without the ice and sub zero temperatures of recent years. Both laps involved a bit of horse avoidance – there’s some discussion on Runners World that this might have been a deliberate attempt to interfere, given that all local stables are informed of the race, but let’s hope it was a one-off. 26.2 results follow.
