We have a ‘try-before-you-buy’ policy so come along and try us out!
About our club
Our club is named after the number of miles in a marathon but please don’t let this put you off! Though some members do run marathons (and further…) many of us enjoy running shorter distances or just for the enjoyment and health benefits that running brings.
We aim to be a friendly and inclusive Club and welcome new Members of ALL running standards, fast or slow, beginner, returning or experienced runners.
Not sure if a Running Club is for you?
No problem! Just come along and try us out for a couple of sessions, if you like us then join up and become a member! We are happy for you to come and try a few sessions for free with absolutely no commitment.
If you are new to running or taking it up after a break, why not join us and see how much more fun running with a group is – much better than slogging around on your own. Once you get the taste you’ll probably want to join up!
On Wednesdays we do a variety of activities – longer runs, track sessions, hill sessions and our monthly 3 mile “Club Handicap” race. If in doubt, email us at enquiries@26point2.co.uk with any questions. Details about what we are upto in the coming week are on the front page of this website “Club Runs week starting … for Members and Newcomers”
It’s not expensive…
The annual membership is a very reasonable £15. See our Membership Details for more information. Optional club kit is available to purchase. All Members get discount at a number of local Running Shops. England Athletics membership is optional but encouraged.
Everyone welcome
We are keen to recruit new members of ALL levels and abilities, whether you are just starting on a keep fit program or you want to run a marathon. We currently have just around 250 members and always welcome more.
Junior runners are welcome to join as members of our club, if attending a club hosted event, including our Monday and Wednesday nights, please ensure that any under 18 is escorted by a responsible adult throughout the run, please do not ask the Run Leader to take on this additional responsibility. Juniors representing the Club at an external event, such as a Grand Prix, must do such under the rules of the organiser.
