Saturday was the last fixture in the Cross-Country season and the men were again victorious in their Division 4 match. That means we finished first in all four fixtures and won the Division by a margin of 366 points from Runnymede Runners. Well done everyone!
Interestingly, Holland Sports finished just one point behind Runnymede in the provisional results so there is some forensic examination of the results still going on to confirm who sealed the second promotion spot.
We had another good turnout at Lloyd Park and fielded 19 runners despite some traffic problems on the road and public transport which prevented some of our runners getting there. The results are available at http://surreyleague.org/slm/race/81/
It just remains for me to thank everyone who participated in cross-country this season, whether it was running, supporting or just turning up in the evening to join us at the pub. A special mention must go to Ann Bath for again providing hot drinks and delicious cakes at the end of each fixture. I am sure they are part of the reason we get so many people turning up. As previously mentioned, the club is looking for a new Mens Cross-Country captain for next season so if you are interested please make yourself known.
