Despite it being the first dark run of the season, when times are often slower, no fewer than 14 of the 36 runners ran PBs last evening, including the first 10 finishers. A further 10 of you, who had previously run this season, had SBs, and the first 25 all finished under the magic 35 min. finish time on the clock.

1st home was Chris Wilson, knocking almost 2 mins off his PB, just 5 secs ahead of Chris Coghlan who ran under 18 mins for the first time.  Jamie Fuentes, 20 secs improvement, Natalie Warren, 1:22 and Amy Tomlins, 42 secs, filled the next three places.

6th placed James Thurston’s time of 17:21 puts him 15th in the all time Male list at the expense of, although I’m sure only temporarily, Steve Watkins, and 8th finishing Jane Calderbank’s time of 19:06 moves her up to 5th in the all time Ladies list.   ‘First timer’ Vanessa Blackburn’s time of 19:10 puts her straight in at 7th at the expense of Jo Newstead.

A good team of volunteers last night enabled Neil Sunderland to get a run in, his first since March, so thanks to the ‘pavement’ team of Jason Blair, Sue and Don Esslemont, and Caroline Dawson, Steve Ramek, Andrea Bennett and her daughter in the ‘road’ team, John Matthews on first corner and Pete Tozer marshalling the Club entrance.

Lastly, an apology to ‘first timer’ Karyn O’Donahue for giving her a rotten start time, I hope it hasn’t put you off the Handicap?  I attach the result.
