Surrey 10 mile champs – Ladies get team silver medals!

Aimee Billington, Zoe Ashcroft and Maggie Stacey were 2nd team at the Surrey Championship 10 mile race at the Dorking 10, and the medals were finally given out today at the Richmond 10K – congratulations as I don’t think 26.2 have ever had Surrey silver team medals before! I’ll bring them to the club on club nights and hope to see you there!

Also, in the Dorking 10 team competition of 4 runners, 26.2 ladies were 3rd, Aimee, Zoe A, Maggie and Sarah Pettefer all won a bottle of wine each (and they were only 4 seconds off 2nd position!)

As part of the Surrey Road League, there are 3 more races and currently after Dorking the Ladies team is 2nd which is our best ever position, the Mens competition is highly competitive and they are in18th position. So we need representation at the last 3 Surrey Road League races!

The last 3 Surrey Road League races are:-

The Elmore 7 mile on Sat July 16th at 2pm, combined with the Chipstead Flower show and fete – lots of things for children (and adults!) plus a marquee with food and drink, I’m sure lifts could be arranged from the club.

then the Elmbridge 10K on Sunday July 24th

and finally the Wimbledon Dash 5K: on Sunday August 14th, also our Grand Priz and 5K champs AND Surrey 5K champs – last year our ladies got Surrey Team Bronze medals – maybe this year Silver or Gold?…

The Surrey Road League is the best of 5 out of the 7 races – team and individual competitions.
