Monthly Handicap Race
On the first Wednesday of the month we hold our handicap race. The race is 3 miles long, consisting of two laps around Berrylands. The race starts from Pine Walk, a short walk from the club. We meet from 19:00 at the club to register and warm up before the race. We aim to start the race at 19:30. Full details of the handicap race, including results, can be found in the handicap pages.
The handicap is not held in June. On the first Wednesday of June we have our club mile championship at a local track instead.
Hills
Meeting at Surbiton Racket and Fitness Club we head to a local hill ain small groups. The hills are all under 1 mile from the club allowing us a short warm up run to get there.
At the hill we complete hill reps, running hard up the hill and recovering on the descent. We continue the reps for approximately 30 minutes.
Following the session we run back to the club as a warm down.
Intervals
Meeting at Surbiton Racket and Fitness Club we run to a local park or street to some speed work. Interval sessions are good training for strength and endurance. The interval lenghts and intensity will vary between the sessions.
Track
Our track sessions are held at Harrier Centre Athletics Track. We meet on the track at 19:00 to complete a short warm up before beginning the track session at 19:15.
Track sessions are run by club members who have acheived their Leadership in Running Fitness training. The sessions vary, please check the news section where details of the sessions will be posted in advance.
It costs approximately £3.00 to run on the track. This is payable on the night to the staff at the track reception.
