26.2 RRC vs The Stragglers Mob Match – Sunday 9th December

With less than a week to go until the biggest event in our calendar, I wanted to share the details ahead of the day as we look to once again show our local rivals who is the best club in the area. Having won the mob in 2016 and 2017, we are heading for a hatrick!

The mob match format is different to regular events. The main prize is for the “mob”; bring along family, friends,  colleagues, neighbours, dogs (yes there is even a prize for the fastest dog!). The club with the biggest representation take the mob match prize and the losers get the stuffing!

There is also a prize for winning the “match”, which is the club with the fastest participants (Stragglers have previously won this), along with individual prizes for the first running  seniors and juniors.

The 4 mile route followings the parkrun course along the towpath to Teddington Lock, before heading right to Riverside Drive, take a left and follow the road to  Ham House, before heading back to the Hawker Centre.

Race details:

Date: Sunday 9th December 2018
Venue: The Hawker Centre, Kingston (same venue as parkrun)
Registration: 09:30am.
You will need to register and get a race number.
There is a £1 entry fee payable on the day (no need to register before the day).
Start time: 10:00am for walkers / kids, 10:30am for runners

Following the race there will be a buffet and presentation.  We are doing away with the raffle this year and instead will be nominating a charity to donate the entry fees into (don’t forget to bring a £1 per entrant).

Don’t forget to wear your club tops to show the Stragglers who they are up against. See you all on Sunday!
