Well it’s been a busy few weeks what with the start of the new Grand Prix season, the club awards night and Endure 24 amongst many things so I thought a quick round up was in order and some promotion of upcoming events.
Tuesday 18th June we will be holding the Horton park relays at Horton Country park. As well as requiring some volunteers for marshalling and timing team etc we would also like to enter a few teams of our own if possible. If you are available on the 18th to either help out or run please drop me an email to let me know. The event will start at 7:30pm prompt so you will need to arrive by 19:15 at the latest. With only a week to go please ensure you let me know ASAP so we can ensure we have the numbers required for marshalling etc before we can enter some teams.
Last Thursday was the first in 3 mob matches against Collingwood and Sutton and unfortunately due to the bad timing of the event and late information we didn’t get too many members out. However the next event is due to be held at Nonsuch Park on Thursday 11th July so please make a note in your diary and hopefully we can get a better turn out at this one. I shall post more details nearer the time but the race will be due to start around 7:30pm at the Mansion House.
The next Grand Prix is the Harry Hawkes 10 which is to be held on Sunday 30th June. Entries are on Sports Systems and if you have yet to enter be sure to claim your 26.2 RRC discount by quoting the code CSHH13 when you enter on line.
The Captains BBQ is due to be held on the afternoon of Sunday 21st July at Horton Country park. As usual the club will provide the meat and rolls etc but members are asked to supply thier own Salad, cakes and drink etc, again further details will be posted soon.
Sunday long runs will be starting up again soon with varying distances and pace groups. There are some that will be training for an autumn marathon but a number of us will only be looking for half marathon distance so with Maidenhead Half looming in September these training runs are an ideal way to get that target time on the day. Notice will be given in the forums and the club Facebook page of dates and times soon so keep your eyes peeled and join us if you can.
