There’s a great (but short) article on the Guardian Running blog written about one person’s experience of converting from a solo runner to joining a running club. I’m certainly struck a chord with me, as I’m sure it will with a lot of other people. I remember all those years ago I was initially reluctant to join a group of people who would all be super fast/committed athlete weirdos who wouldn’t want to chat while running or go for a beer afterwards, but I soon discovered how wrong I was! I love the quote in the article: “Through <insert running club name here>, I have met people I would not otherwise have met”.
