After another successful year for the Grand Prix, the final standings are summarised in the tables below (click “Read More”). Overall, an average of 29 competitors attended each event (a record) and raced for a total aggregate distance of 2,321 miles. In all there were fifteen club members who showed great consistency in their running and competed in at least nine of the events during the year.
Trophies and mementos will be awarded to the winners on Saturday evening along with Sweatshop vouchers aggregating to a total of £300 going to the first three places in each of the four categories.
The Grand Prix is a series of twelve events during the year where Club members race against other club members for points according to their finishing position and age graded score. The best nine results for each member are counted in compiling the overall tables. Club colours must be worn to score at an event. More details on the Grand Prix are available here or feel free to ask a committee member. The upcoming Grand Prix events are listed in the “Coming Events” menu option on the Club website (usually shown in yellow).
The 2011/12 Grand Prix starts on June 1st at the Club Mile Championship at Kingsmeadow Stadium
