Horton 10K – Postponed

For those who were planning to run the Horton 10K this coming Sunday please note this race has been postponed due to a number of factors.

Email from David as follows:

I am so sorry to have had to make the decision to postpone this Sunday’s final race in the 29th annual RonHill Surrey Classic Series until 18 March 2018.

It is for several reasons : firstly, I live in Derbyshire, 168 mile from Epsom, and I am also having medical treatment for between 6 and 9 months the effects of which are that without notice, I get very tired, my voice fades and my sight is affected; then, with snow on the ground here, there is no certainty that I would make it although, as with all of my events in Epsom, I book into a hotel the day before; my Czech wife, Eva, does not drive in the UK despite being a good driver back in CZ and so I would not wish to put lives at risk if I decided to drive myself.

I understand that a few clubs use his race as a part of their club championship and I sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.

The entries that have been received have been processed and will be carried over to 18 March but if anyone finds that date inconvenient and wishes to withdraw, just text me on 07747 776233 so that the number can be used for people on the waiting list.

In a day or two, I shall send out a full list of entries for your information.

It is MONDAY 11 FDECEMBER and I wanted to give all of you good notice of the postponement. Some of you may remember that a few years ago, heavy snow fell on the day before the final race that had to be postponed…..what a jouney home that was.

With best wishes and thanks for your understanding and please enjoy the festive period whatever and wherever you may be.

David
