It was ladies night at the Club Handicap last evening with 6 of the 9 ladies running, in a field of 28, finishing in the top 12. 1st home, and coming back to form, was Sue Garnish, 12 secs ahead of Caroline Dawson who, with a time of 23:56, smashed her PB by 41 secs.

First man home, 10 secs behind in 3rd, was Ben Downe whose SB time of 19:16 was only 6 secs short of his PB.  He was 3 secs ahead of Julie Rickard with Danny Norman a further 3 secs behind, both beating their PBs by 14 and 13 secs respectively.  Danny’s time of 16:12 still keeps him in 4th position in the ‘All Time’ list.

Contest of the evening undoubtedly belonged to the ‘Three Amigos’, Libby Marchant, Kevin Stone and Rick Emery.  Starting together, they finished within 7 secs of each other with Libby taking the honours in a PB time of 21:13, 6 secs ahead of Kevin Stone who also ran a PB, pipping Rick by 1 sec.

A very pleasant evening for running and my thanks go to Derick Wilkie, Andrea Bennett and Richard Goulder without whose help it might have been somewhat different.
