I have at last received a set of results from the Men’s Cross-country last Saturday that make sense. I have saved these in the Downloads sections – follow link below.

There was a good turnout of 18 members from the club (Richard Kirk went for the 2 lap option so isn’t listed in the results) on a lovely sunny day. There was also great support from the ladies who had come straight from their race at Putney Vale with lots of tales of rolling around in the mud. None of the present members could remember running at Oxshott before so it was a new experience for all of us. Although a little bunched on the first lap, I thought it was a really good challenging course with lots of variety in terrain and a nice steep hill to destroy your rhythm. As usual Jim Ley led the way for the club, followed by Jack Holland making a surprise, but very welcome, first appearance of the season. James King ran very strongly to finish third for the club with the rest of the team fairly evenly spaced behind. After three races of the season and despite everyone’s best efforts, it looks like we are destined to finish in the bottom two in Division 3 and therefore, drop back down to Division 4. We would still like to put in a good performance at the final race on 8 February which is at Newlands Corner at 3pm so please put it in your diaries now as it is only just over three weeks away.
