Parkrunners 17/08/2013

Richard and Victoria Kirk were ‘gentle’ first timers in a field of 46 at Aberystwyth.  At Banstead Woods, Carol Hoare ran her 50th parkrun and Mike Crimmen took another minute off his time. He’s still alternating walking and running, what’s he going to be like when he runs all the way? I’m beginning to look over my shoulder, now!

Katherine Wilson was 2nd Lady at Bushy in a PB time of 19:30, and Mr & Mrs ‘Pegs’ (Pengelly) were out at Canning River.  There was a PB for Libby Marchant at Chelmsford Central where Danny Norman was 4th finisher in 17:28. The winner’s (sorry, first finisher’s) time was 14:56 with an age grading of 88.84%, and he was 2 mins. ahead of the 2nd man. A lonely parkrun!

More action again at Kingston, this week, where new member Katherine Franklin, in her first ever parkrun, finshed 1st Lady in a time of 23:18, and Chris Wilson and Steve Holden ran PBs.  However, performance of the day was surely that of Lizzie Ruth Wilson who, with much encouragement round the course from Matthew Pritchard, and other members at the finish, ran a PB of 29:44, knocking 4 secs off her time set on 28/05/2011.

Luke McDonagh popped up as a first timer at Nonsuch with a gentle 23:07, no doubt easing himself back in after his ‘Iron Man’ exploits, Dave Wilson chose Southampton for a first timer and his 200th parkrun, running another sub 21mins.  It must have been pretty crowded, there, as over 60 runners finished in the 21st minute of the run.

Kevin Stone was a first timer at Tees Barrage and was one of 33 members who ran parkrun this week.
