Interested in a long weekend’s skiing in early March in Bad Gastein? I’m arranging a trip for a few friends and still have a few slots available in the chalet. Bad Gastein is only an hour away from Salzburg and you can fly there from LGW with either BA or Easyjet, or from Stansted with Ryanair. Accommodation is in a simple five double / triple room chalet in a hamlet just outside Bad Gastein (www.skigastein.co.uk), with a ski bus stop right outside which takes you to all four of the ski areas (reportedly 250km of runs). Cost of accommodation is max £45 per per person per day, half board. I currently have a group of seven (mixture of skiers / snowboarders, ages, men / women and ability), but would ideally like to have at least ten (the chalet can take up to 14, which would result in a lower daily rate). Plan is to fly out early on Saturday 5th March and back on Wednesday 9th March, so four nights accommodation and 3.5 to 4 days skiing. A local taxi firm will transfer to the accommodation for a reasonable rate, so no need to hire a car. According to myslopes.com, current snow conditions are very good in all four ski areas around Bad Gastein – with more snow falling yesterday. If you are interested, please drop me a line ASAP to my home e-mail address (grahamashby@sky.com). Many thanks Graham
