The New Hogsback 8 mile!

In my tenure at the Club I have never run this local race. So, on Sunday morning I set out to the Surrey Hills and joined the others at Loseley House for the Hogsback 11.7km. (It used to be an 8 miler, but the new improved hillier course is only about 7.3 miles).

The course is hilly. Quite long stretches at times but nevertheless enjoyable. Downhill sections allowed for sufficient rest before another climb. Very picturesque if you have time to lift your head and look at the scenery. Particularly on the last 2km where you return to the start area. No longer on the old course with the “endless driveway”,  I heard so many horror stories about.

Overall very enjoyable and I don’t know why I waited so long to do this race. I liked the simpleness of the race, complete with muddy car park! I would definitely do it again.

Thanks to Binkie for the support on the way round doing his reverse loop.

Got interested in this half marathon which was stuck to my car window. http://surreyhalfmarathon.co.uk/
