Wednesday 19 October: Track session is a week early!

Major repairs to the Kingsmeadow running track mean that the track will be closed for a number of weeks from late October.

Our track session this month will therefore be a week earlier than scheduled and will take place 7.15 for 7.30pm next Wednesday,  19 October.

At this time of year we are mostly running longer distances – some people considerably longer!  Speed work is still an important part of a training schedule, but we will run longer reps: either 5x800m or 6x800m.

We meet at the Kingsmeadow track, Kingston Road.  Please arrive by about 7.15pm to complete a gentle warm up (eg two or three times jogging around the track, or perhaps run to the track).  The formal warm-up begins promptly at 7.30pm.  Entry is £3.65.

This speed session is for all standards of runners, involving groups running at differing speeds.  Running short, faster intervals in a speed session is an important part of our overall physical and psychological training programme, building endurance and contributing to faster times at those longer distances as well.
