Club Mile

I am sure that you don’t need reminding but this Wednesday 5 June is the next Grand Prix and Club Mile championship – probably the shortest distance you will do all year but arguably the toughest.  Just in case you have not had the pleasure of taking part in the mile before, here are a few details.

The Mile takes place at the Kingsmeadow Athletics Track  in Kingston and you will need to pay £3.30 at the front desk to use the track.  Due to the number of people taking part we split the Mile into two races which have traditionally meant a women’s and a men’s race.  We intend to do the same this year, however, please feel free to run in either race if you feel it would better suit your pace.  We will start the first race at 7.30pm so try to arrive at the track in good time to give yourself a chance to warm up.  Your entrance fee includes use of the showers if you want to freshen up afterwards and once you have got your breathe back you are all welcome to come back to the Club for a drink in the bar.

If you are not intending to run the Mile we could do with a number of volunteers to help recording the times of the finishers.  Please let Libby or me know if you are available.

Don’t forget to wear your club vest!
