The first half marathon of the 2018/2019 Grand Prix season and strong and upbeat 26.2 team was present. Just when we thought the summer was over, the sun came out to say hello and warmed all the runners as we stood at the start ready for the off.
A well organised, fast, flat race with good marshals allowed some of our runners to give stellar performances. Of particular note should be Richard Hook who smashed his PB by over 5 minutes and Joseph Gonzalez (1:21:41) by over 3 minutes. The husband and wife team Lorenzo and Valfre di Bonzo (1:29:05) and Viola Nicastro (1:59:12) also bagged amazing PBs. Also Diana Kimura (1:48:53) also achieved an excellent PB with superb pacing. Admirable performances also came from Tim Bartholomew and Nick Murray who completed parkrun followed by an extremely muddy 8.5 mile ‘NUTS challenge’ obstacle course only yesterday!
Well done to the runners who made it and thank you to Ann for the cakes!
