Despite threatening rain the weather held off to give dry but slightly blustery conditions for this year’s club mile championship. A strong field of 50 runners attended, running in our two waves.
The first wave was lead home by Brian Merritt for the men and Andrea Bennett for the ladies. With a split between the two races set at a 7 minute mile we had 4 runners beat the dividing time.
In the second wave we saw our first past the post mile champions crowned as Anthony Whelan and Libby Marchant. Age graded results will follow soon.
To finish the evening we had a kids race with Charlotte and Zoe Pritchard and Otter Ley all completing a lap of the track. After their support to us on our runs we were all happy to cheer them round to fine performances.
